Altar Servers

Altar servers play a crucial role in the liturgical life of the Church. Their service enhances the solemnity and reverence of the Mass, helping the congregation to focus on the worship and celebration of the Eucharist.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing the church for Mass 

  • Preparing the altar: Set up the altar, arrange the Lectionary, and put out candles 

  • Preparing the sacraments: Ensure there is enough bread, wine, and water, placing them in place

  • Preparing the liturgical ministers: Help altar servers, Eucharistic Ministers, and Acolytes prepare for Mass 

  • Cleaning after Mass: Clean and store the holy vessels and materials 

Membership is open to anyone willing to prayerfully commit themselves to this ministry.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a practicing Catholic

  • Have received the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation

  • Responsible, mature, and organized

  • A good communicator with attention to detail

  • Committed to the liturgy and fostering volunteer participation
